Just over 37 years after female sports reporters won the constitutional right to work in locker rooms, three female reporters weren't allowed entrance into the Jacksonville Jaguars locker room after a road game against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

When Graham Watson of Yahoo Sports, Joey Chandler of Tuscaloosa News and Tulsa World’s Katie McInerney attempted to enter the visitor's locker room as part of a management exercise for Associated Press Sports Editors, they were reportedly rebuffed by a man they described as an usher, according to the Indianapolis Star.

When getting ready to enter Jags locker room with other APSE female fellows, old man tried to deny us entry. It's still 2015, right?

I was just blocked from a locker room by an old, out-of-touch geezer who wasn't sure women were allowed because "you know how guys are."

At first we thought we had the wrong door,” Watson told the Indianapolis Star. “He said, ‘I’m not sure you’re allowed back there.’”

“He said, ‘I’m sure you know how guys are, I’m just warning you,'" Chandler also added.

Watson tweeted that all three female reporters were allowed in after a few minutes, but only after the usher asked several men if it was OK for them to enter. A Jaguars official eventually let them in, according to the Indianapolis Star.

While the Colts, who haven't identified the usher, are investigating the matter, both the Jaguars and Colts public relations teams have apologized, according to Watson. She told the Indianapolis Star that she's never had any trouble entering locker rooms until this past Sunday.

I have covered male sporting events all over the world and it took coming to Indianapolis to face my first gender discrimination. @NFL

This guy was an usher and apparently not aware that women cover sports. I about lost it. @Colts @Jaguars

Yes, Mr. NFL stadium usher, women do cover sports in 2015, even if they sometimes receive death threats for it.
