The most stylish way to commune with nature.

Lying in the grass is so last season.

The Terra grass armchair offers an even more comfortable way to commune with nature and enjoy your backyard. The grow-it-yourself chair comes as a package of cardboard pieces; after setting up the pieces in a frame on your lawn, you pack it with dirt and sprinkle grass seeds. This is what our Chia Pets trained us for!

Terra chairs were originally sold from 2000 until 2005, when designers Andrea Sanna and Piergiorgio Robino of Studio Nucleo decided self-production was no longer sustainable. Recently, Sanna and Robino received a letter from a woman who had long admired Terra chairs and wanted to order them after finally getting her own garden. The designers were inspired to resume building their signature grassy seats.

The project is currently raising money for production on Kickstarter. For a pledge of about $129, you can order a kit to create a miniature Terra armchair. The full-sized chair runs about $279.

The Terra is pricey, but so is most quality outdoor furniture, and that standard Adirondack chair won’t look like something out of The Shire in The Lord of the Rings. Get your Hobbit on.
