Hillary Clinton Will Appear On 'Saturday Night Live' Season Premiere

Sources close to Clinton say she'll be in the show's cold open.

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will make an appearance on this weekend's season premiere of NBC's "Saturday Night Live."

According to The New York Times, neither NBC nor Clinton's campaign would confirm the appearance, but the Times reported that several people close to Clinton said she will participate in the show's cold open, alongside "SNL" cast member Kate McKinnon, who impersonates her on the show.

Clinton was originally supposed to deliver the keynote address at an event for the Human Rights Campaign, a notable LGBT rights organization, that night -- a spot that has now been filled by Vice President Joe Biden.

The cameo comes as Clinton's campaign mulls how to make the candidate more approachable to voters. The former secretary of state last appeared on the show during her 2008 presidential campaign, in a sketch that poked fun at her distinctive laugh, starring Amy Poehler as Clinton.
