FYI: Just because a man employs women doesnβt mean he canβt be sexist.
During an interview with CNNβs Gloria Borger, Borger asked Trump βflat outβ if her father is a sexist. Trump responded that her father is βabsolutely notβ a sexist because he hired her β his daughter β to work for him.
βHeβs absolutely not a sexist,β Trump said. βThereβs no way I could be the person I am today if my father was a sexist.β
She continued to defend her father, telling Borger that Trump has β40 years of history of employing womenβ:
I would not be one of his senior-most executives and I would not be working shoulder to shoulder with my brothers. I would be working for my brothers if at all. I think actions ultimately speak louder than words. My father has 40 years of history of employing women.
This was said about the man who once commented that if Ivanka wasnβt his daughter, heβd probably be dating her.
From recently hiring Stephen K. Bannon, who faced domestic violence charges in the β90s, as his campaignβs chief executive to receiving debate prep from accused sexual harasser Roger Ailes, along with the multitude of misogynist statements heβs made β itβs safe to say Donald Trump is most definitely sexist.
Hiring women doesnβt magically make you a feminist and it certainly doesnβt negate blatant sexism.
Editorβs note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims β 1.6 billion members of an entire religion β from entering the U.S.
