James Franco Delves Into The World Of Gay Porn For 'King Cobra'

The steamy first trailer has us intrigued.

James Franco strips down and pumps iron alongside Keegan Allen and Garrett Clayton in the first trailer for “ King Cobra,” Justin Kelly’s hotly-anticipated gay porn biopic.

The film, which hits theaters nationwide on Oct. 21, traces the relationship between real-life adult film actor Brent Corrigan (Clayton) and movie producer Bryan Kocis (Christian Slater). Co-stars Franco and Allen play a pair of rival porn producers who try to lure Corrigan away from Kocis’s clutches before things take a grisly turn.

The 29-year-old Corrigan, whose real name is Sean Paul Lockhart, distanced himself from “King Cobra” after the film premiered at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival in April. Responding to a fan’s inquiry about the movie, he tweeted:

Reviews of the film were generally mixed. The Guardian’s Nigel M. Smith praised Franco for turning in his “most unhinged performance since ‘Spring Breakers,’” while Variety’s Peter Debruge felt differently, calling it “all smut and no soul.”

Either way, that steamy trailer has us intrigued.
