Jamie Lynn Spears surprised her big sis Britney in a big way at Saturday’s Radio Disney Music Awards.
Britney was in attendance to be honored with Radio Disney’s first-ever Icon Award. Before presenting Britney with the award, hosts Kelsea Ballerini and Sofia Carson performed a medley of Spears’ music alongside “Starving” singer Hailee Steinfeld.
Ballerini sang and strummed along to Britney’s 2000 single “Oops!... I Did It Again.” Steinfeld gave a rousing rendition of Britney’s 2008 track “Circus,” while Sofia Carson donned a school girl uniform to perform Spears’ iconic “ ... Baby One More Time.”
But the performance took an emotional turn when Jamie Lynn joined the trio onstage. Jamie Lynn and co. closed the medley out with Britney’s 2011 hit “Till the World Ends.”
After the performance, Jamie Lynn had just one thing to say to her big sis: “Surprise!”
Britney couldn’t have been more excited to see her sister kill it onstage.
Jamie Lynn then presented Britney with the Icon Award, calling her sister “the best sister a girl could ever have.”
“She is my friend, my hero, my favorite pop star of all time ― and everyone else’s,” Jamie Lynn said. “I’m so excited to present her with this well-deserved recognition.”

The performance comes nearly two months after an ATV accident left Jamie Lynn’s daughter in critical condition. Eight-year-old Maddie Aldridge was airlifted to a hospital in February after her ATV reportedly flipped into a pond. Aldridge has since made a remarkable recovery: Last month she was able to take a much-needed vacation at Disney World with her mom and aunt Britney.
After such a harrowing experience, we’re thrilled these two could celebrate together. Congratulations to Britney for her award and to Jamie Lynn for pulling off the perfect surprise!
