Channing Tatum is set to play a merman in the upcoming remake of “Splash” and no one is more excited than his wife, Jenna Dewan Tatum.

The actress recently tried on Tatum’s costume ― a flashy purple tail ― and many thought that she was making an announcement of her own. Not so!

She remembered the incident in a caption: “That time I was trying on [Tatum’s] costume for ‘Splash’ and everyone thought I was announcing a pregnancy.”

Dewan Tatum’s followers were quick to console her, telling the actress that she looked great.

“It’s just a weird angle, Jenna. You are ridiculously fit! Definitely don’t look pregnant,” one commenter wrote, while another, self-deprecating fan added, “If you look preggo then I would look like I had swallowed a hippo in your fabulous mermaid tail!”

Most, however, seemed focused on the couple’s adorable 3-year-old daughter Everly, who sports a purple tail of her own in the top-left corner of the photo. Too cute!

In the upcoming “Splash” remake, the roles played by Daryl Hannah and Tom Hanks in the 1984 version will be gender-swapped ― Channing will take on Hannah’s role as the mermaid while “Workaholics” star Jillian Bell will play Hanks’ part. Marja-Lewis Ryan is writing the new script and Ron Howard, who directed the original film, is also attached.
