Watch A Kebab Shop Owner Stay Super Chill During An Armed Robbery

"I was sure he would not shoot me. He came to rob me, not to kill me."

A kebab shop owner stayed incredibly calm during an armed robbery.

Said Ahmed barely acknowledged the masked gunman who demanded cash after bursting into his Egyptian Kebab House in Christchurch, New Zealand, on May 28, as shown in video footage now going viral.

Watch the video here:

Surveillance video shows the robber entering the eatery, pointing a gun and holding open a bag for Ahmed to put money into.

But Ahmed just ignores the intruder and instead focuses on putting the finishing touches on a paying customer’s takeout meal and then handing it over.

The gunman leaves as the store owner walks off to telephone the police. “I was sure he would not shoot me,” Ahmed told Stuff.co.nz. “He came to rob me, not to kill me.”

“He was surprised from my reaction. ‘I have come to rob him and he is walking away from me, so what can I do,’” he added.

Canterbury Police posted footage of the incident to Facebook on Wednesday, alongside an appeal for information in tracking down the suspect.
