Why Lena Dunham Is More Of A Fashion Badass Than You Think

Lena Dunham gets a lot of flak about the way she dresses. And we admit it, sometimes, she misses the mark -- but so do most celebrities at one point or another.

The truth of the matter is, Dunham takes more risks than the average star, thereby landing herself on the worst-dressed list more often than say, someone who plays it safe on every red carpet (*cough Jennifer Aniston cough*). In reality, Lena Dunham is somewhat of a fashion badass (with her own Vogue cover, we might add). The "Girls" star tries combinations, colors and silhouettes that most A-listers wouldn't dare attempt, and she goes for statement-making makeup to complement her cropped hair.

To celebrate the talented writer/actor/filmmaker on her 28th birthday today (May 13), we've decided to take a look back at a few of her fashion choices over the years to prove that she is one huge risk-taker. Cheers to you, Dunham! Keep on keepin' on -- we love your adventurous style.
