How often do I hear

"Why does this always happen to me?"

or

"This idea came to me, I don't know why"

or

"Why do I do these things?"

this word

brings me to the discovery

I made for myself

"Why"

is a valuable word for

research

such as

"Why does water change color

when I add a tea bag

to it?"

for it leads me to discovery

however

when it comes to

"Why does this happen to me?"

I discovered

that question led me

to the past

and was

mostly

useless for me

for it demanded of

my left brain

a reason

I did something

human

and

the answers I would receive

were mostly

negative

I believe

that

my left brain

only understands what

I know

empirically

so it would rummage through

the dusty closet

of my memory

for some experience

from the past

such as

"Because you crossed

the street

without looking

so you don't take directions well"

types of answers

that led to

nowhere really

and

almost always

answers to

"Why"

in a personal

situation

were disempowering.

this

left me

dissatisfied

my discovery was

to change

Perspective

from asking myself

why

to asking

myself

a different

question

one that

empowers me

and that question

was and is

"What Do I Want?"

when I ask that question

suddenly

I am

plugged into

the magic

of

past

present

and future

my right brain

my imagination

my connection

to the

universe

of possibility

my entire world

changed then

and it was simply

a

change

of

Perspective

when I find myself

in a challenging

situation

asking

myself

"What Do I Want?"

immediately

lifts me

from the

state of

indecision

and places me

on the

road to

possibility

from unanswerable

questions

that led to

doubts

to the runway

of

flight

endless possibilities

that sour

around me

and suddenly

I have choices

Perspective

when I find myself

dissatisfied

the first thing I do

in place of

asking myself

why

is to

ask myself

"What Do I Want?"

and I'm

off to the

races

and it's

one helluva

fun ride

what a difference

Perspective

makes
