Stacey Dash abruptly left VH1's series "Single Ladies" in 2011, and there were rumors floating around as to why. A new promo clip for LisaRaye's episode of Centric's "Being" has brought the conversation up again.
In the clip for the original docu-series, which you can watch above, LisaRaye implies that her past onset feud with Dash resulted in the actress being replaced by former "All My Children" star Denise Vasi.
“In Hollywood, I’ve learned to be a boss,” she said in the clip. “I had to say to Stacey Dash, ‘If you don’t get your motherf**king finger out of my face…’ So for our second season of Single Ladies, there was a replacement for Stacey Dash.”
There were rumors at the time that Dash's feud with LisaRaye was the reason for her exit. But, Dash told GlobalGrind her decision to leave the show, which filmed in Atlanta, was to “be back in L.A. with [her] children.”
And a year later, LisaRaye told HuffPost that the argument wasn’t "personal."
“One argument doesn’t break up a friendship unless it was something that was so personal, and it wasn’t personal, it was work related,” she said. “We were tired, it was what it was and we moved past that. So I think that if either one of us held out against each other, we both would be fools, it’s not that serious.”
Only time will tell if more information will surface regarding Dash's 2011 departure.
“Being” airs Saturdays at 10pm/est on Centric.
