Mets Prospect Is Ridiculously Chill While Catching Flying Baseball Bat

This video is wild.

Luis Guillorme isn’t just swinging bats on his way to the major leagues: He’s catching them, too!

The Mets’ prospect recently made an unexpected play while waiting in the dugout during the Mets’ spring training matchup against the Marlins on Thursday.

During the second inning, the Marlins’ Adeiny Hechavarria lost control of his bat while swinging at a pitch from Robert Gsellman. The bat flew toward the dugout and casually into the hand of Guillorme.

A bare hand.

Teammate Brandon Nimmo can be seen in the video dodging out of the way.

I just literally saw the bat coming at me and caught it. Didn’t think much of it,” Guillorme told Cut4. “Usually when stuff like that happens, I really don’t get out of the way. I saw it the whole way. I threw my hand at it. The bat just happened to land on it.”

The epic catch has naturally garnered the attention of those on social media:

Guillorme also told Cut4 that he had “150 new Instagram notifications and 45 texts” after the incredible catch.

We’re willing to bet his ‘gram is going to keep blowing up if his career keeps on this trajectory. Nice goin’, Guillorme.
