Netflix Dropped A Trailer For '13 Reasons Why' And It Is Dark

"Settle in, because I’m about to tell you the story of my life.”

Hannah Baker wants her classmates to know why she killed herself.

That’s the premise of Netflix’s upcoming series “13 Reasons Why,” a show based on the 2007 book of the same name by Jay Asher, and the official trailer just dropped.

The show, which is produced by Selena Gomez and mother Mandy Teefy, follows Clay (Dylan Minnette), a teenager who is given 13 cassette tapes that belonged to Hannah Baker (Katherine Langford), a classmate of his who took her own life. The tapes explain why.

The trailer is an emotional rollercoaster that walks us through a lot of iconic high school moments: basketball games, dances, parties. Interspersed throughout are more sinister moments ― crying faces, guns, possible drowning ― as well as Hannah’s narrative where she tells viewers to “settle in, because I’m about to tell you the story of my life.”

She goes on: “More specifically, why my life ended. And if you are listening to this tape, you are one of the reasons why.”

The 13-episode mystery will be released on Netflix March 31. We’ll be biting our nails in the interim.
