Noomi Rapace Cast Alongside Colin Farrell In 'Dead Man Down'

Noomi Rapace Nabs Big Role

While Rooney Mara may be headlining David Fincher's "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," work is not in short supply for Sweden's Lisbeth Salander, actress Noomi Rapace.

According to HitFix, she will be re-joining her "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" director Niels Arden Oplev for a new acton-packed thriller, "Dead Man Down" opposite Colin Farrell.

Here Rapace stars as a seductress who seeks revenge against an underworld crime boss. The film, which is written by J.H. Wyman (who currently serves as the executive producer on the acclaimed Fox sci-fi series "Fringe"), is slotted to begin shooting early 2012.

"I could not be any more excited about 'Dead Man Down' and the team we have assembled," said the film's producer and Original Film founder Neal H. Moritz in a statement. "[J.H.] Wyman has written a terrific script, Colin and Noomi are perfect casting and Niels is a truly gifted filmmaker. My partners at IM Global and I look forward to delivering a terrific action thriller to the marketplace."

While we're on the edge of our seat waiting for more Rapace-butt-kicking, next she'll be going Edwardian, starring alongside an eyeshadow-wearing Robert Downey, Jr. in "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows." And we'll see her again in Ridley Scott's super-anticipated "Prometheus."
