Norwegian Air Will Offer Even More Cheap Flights Next Year

This airline has flights to Europe for as low as $99.

Frugal travelers, rejoice! Budget airline Norwegian Air is growing its U.S. presence and will offer even more cheap flights to and from Europe in 2017.

New routes and/or boosts in existing service are in store at Los Angeles, Newark Liberty, Fort Lauderdale, Oakland and John F. Kennedy International Airports.

Norwegian is the cheap European airline you may not have heard much about, but should definitely start following. They currently operate one-way flights from several U.S. cities to destinations around Europe for under $200, sometimes as low as $99.

Last week, the U.S. Department of Transportation granted approval for Norwegian’s Ireland-based subsidiary to fly into the U.S., a business move some experts say will result in more cheap flights because the Irish subsidiary subscribes to European Union regulations and labor laws. As Norwegian already had plans to expand its U.S. offerings anyway, the EU factor may not matter much.

Indeed, the airline has been steadily adding routes and dropping prices over the last year. One-way flights to Paris debuted for $175 this summer, along with $139 flights to Europe in a nationwide flash sale. The fall launch of a Las Vegas to London route featured $199 tickets, and Barcelona and Copenhagen routes will debut in 2017 with tickets as cheap as $179.

The deals from Norwegian just keep getting better, and the airline is expected to keep growing as major competition for U.S. airlines that fly to Europe, Skift reports.

More cheap flights? That’s something we’ll happily get on board with.
