Here Are Barack Obama's 2017 March Madness Picks

President Trump turned down an offer to fill out a bracket on the air with ESPN.

Even though he’s no longer in the White House, former President Barack Obama still chose to release his 2017 March Madness brackets to the public.

Obama chose Duke University, the University of Arizona, the University of Kansas and the University of North Carolina to make it to the Final Four in the NCAA men’s tournament. He predicted a heated rivalry in the championship, choosing North Carolina to beat Duke.

In the women’s tournament, Obama chose the University of Connecticut, the University of Washington, the University of Notre Dame and the University of South Carolina to make it to the Final Four. He predicted UConn would beat Notre Dame to win it all.

While in office, Obama would annually fill out a bracket with ESPN. President Donald Trump declined to participate with the sports channel this year.

In a tweet, the Obama Foundation said the former president was releasing his picks “in the spirit of good sportsmanship & good citizenship.”
