The Baltimore Sun reported Monday that five of the police officers who were involved in the death of Freddie Gray will face disciplinary action.
The Baltimore Police department commissioned an investigation of the six officers involved in Gray case after criminal charges were dropped last year. According to the Sun, the investigation has ended and five of these officers are facing administrative discipline.
Officer Caesar Goodson, Lt. Brian Rice and Sgt. Alicia White are likely to be fired, according to the Sun. Goodson was the officer driving the van where Gray suffered the severe spinal injury resulting in his death. Rice was the officer who ordered Gray be shackled. White was in the van transporting Gray and requested medical assistance a few minutes into the ride.
The two officers who made the arrest, Edward Nero and Garrett Miller, will reportedly receive five days suspension without pay.
The only officer not facing disciplinary action is Officer William Porter, according to the Sun. Porter was previously acquitted of manslaughter charges.
HuffPost reached out to the Baltimore Police Department for confirmation, but was told they couldn’t comment on “personnel matters” or speak to the accuracy of the Sun’s reporting.
