'Prancercise' Founder Does Not Approve Of The Gangnam Horse Dance

Prancercise Lady Does Not Approve Of Gangnam Horse Dance

Maybe you've become aware of the phenomenon known as Prancercising, "a springy, rhythmic way of moving forward, similar to a horse's gait," in founder Joanna Rohrback's words. And perhaps, as you watched Rohrback gallop sensually down tree-lined paths in the most explosive video on the interwebs this week, you asked yourself: "Is Prancercising better than every other equine-based phenomena in existence? Does it trample all over nude Daniel Radcliffe in Equus, like so many wild horses stomping the beaches of Assateague? Would it render Mr. Ed speechless? Most importantly, in the presence of a graceful Prancerciser, does the "Gangnam Style" horse move just look incredibly crass?"

Yes to the last, says...well, Rohrback. In an interview published today at the Miami New Times, the Florida native gives a devastating review of Psy's contribution to horse-inspired movement.

"What that dance does," she begins, flustered. She pauses to comport herself. "What it almost does is imitate someone screwing someone. At best, it is someone riding a horse. I'm against riding a horse; I'd rather move alongside a horse and not exert my will on another creature."

Rohrback came up with the concept of prancing for exercise back in 1989 -- and even wrote a book about it! -- but it wasn't until British comedian Robert Popper posted the goofy eighties video to end all goofy eighties videos on Monday that anyone took notice. We highly recommend you watch below, as well as read the entire surreal New Times investigation into how Rohrback's empire came to be. For anyone into deep analysis, we've also posted a video of Britney Spears taking horsey dance lessons from Psy himself, so you can compare.
