YOLO ATTACK: Birthday Stabbing Turns Party Into 'War Zone'

"People were actually laying out here, in front, stabbed, laying in cars with all their wounds."

An uninvited guest at a quinceanera birthday party in Yolo County, California, allegedly stabbed six other people, including two members of the performing band, FOX 40 reports.

"It was horrible, everyone was screaming. There were little kids also ... crying," Maria Avena, a member of the family hosting the party, told the network.

She also said her family knows the alleged suspect and his family.

The Saturday night attack occurred at around 10:30 p.m. at Madison Town Hall. Dale Johnson of the Yolo County Sheriff's Office told The Huffington Post that the suspect has been identified as Daniel Portugal, 18.

Ricardo Alvarado said two of his bandmates were stabbed, as was a woman who tried to stop the attacker.

"It looked like a war zone," he told KCRA in San Francisco. "People were actually laying out here, in front, stabbed, laying in cars with all their wounds. About six, seven people got stabbed, so a lot of ambulances, helicopter here."

None of the injuries were considered life-threatening. One required surgery.

Police arrested Portugal near the event. Johnson said officers are still interviewing witnesses to try to piece together a motive.

"The subject has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, times six," he said.
