Hackers Post 'Private' Photos, Video Of Democratic Delegate Online

“This incident shows that there are some people who will go to any length to degrade a woman who refuses to play their games," Del. Stacey Plaskett said.

Stacey Plaskett, the Virgin Islands’ Democratic delegate to Congress, says hackers posted a “private” video and racy photos of her and her husband online.

“Private photographs shared between my husband and me, as well as a private playful video of our family, including one of our children, were illegally obtained and disseminated via the internet,” Plaskett said in a statement released on Thursday.

“To say my family and I are greatly upset would be a tremendous understatement. As a mother I am outraged that one of my children was exploited in such a way,” the first-term delegate said.

The video of Plaskett and her husband, Jonathan Buckney-Small, was posted online Wednesday night but later removed.

The delegate’s office said it is working with U.S. Capitol Police and the FBI to investigate the incident.

According to The Washington Times, one of the photos posted was of a topless woman that resembled Plaskett.

The mother of five children, who won her seat in 2014, is currently running for re-election against St. Thomas businessman Gordon Ackley and lawyer Ronald Russell.

Plaskett concluded her statement: “This incident shows that there are some people who will go to any length to degrade a woman who refuses to play their games. …I have a message for the criminals who perpetrated these heinous acts: I will not go away.”
