Stephen Colbert And Abraham Lincoln's Ghost Analyze The Debate

Lincoln logs hilarious air time.

Honestly, Abe, you’re pretty funny.

After watching the debate with “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert on Monday, the “ghost” of former President Abraham Lincoln noted that personal attacks were also a part of his famous debates with Stephen Douglas in 1858.

“Douglas called me a muckspout gobbermouch and I said point blank that his mother was a short-legged donkey fondler,” an animated Abe told Colbert in a clever opening bit.

Lincoln was happy to discover that we had a black president but spit out his drink when told the commander in chief is a Democrat.

Watch the video above ― and don’t blame Abe for his strong reaction when Colbert says he has to get to the theater to do the live show.
