Teach and Learn

Go ahead -- call me unadventurous and old-fashioned. Yes -- I crave for simpler times when words meant what they said.

  • I want "News Anchors" to be grounded reporters and not glamorous fashionistas. I don't want "News to Go" -- I want news to stay.
  • I want "Home and Garden" shows to give me tips on how to redo my outdated house and renew my overgrown patch -- gradually. What I don't want is an impeccably designed team of perfectly chiseled bodies to transform cluttered spaces into ingenious works of art -- overnight.
  • I want "Cooking" segments to teach me how to cook. I tune in to fine tune my rusty culinary skills; not to reluctantly rally behind smart-talking chefs, superhero bakers and quirky characters looking for a quick shot at fame. When did talking back and talking down become key ingredients to cooking well?
  • I want my "Elected Officials" to be decent folks who have our backs and not boorish bullies who stab us (and each other) in the back. I want them to follow in the footsteps of Solon instead of dancing to the drumbeat of Draco. (And can you blame me for wanting "trump" to mean "exemplary" again?)

Sometimes, all I want to do is to LIVE my own reality show and LEARN.
