Trevor Noah: It's Possible To Be 'Pro-Cop And Pro-Black'

"You shouldn't have to choose between the police and the citizens that they are sworn to protect."

Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” addressed this week’s high-profile killings of black men by police officers, arguing it’s possible to be “pro-cop and pro-black.”

“You know the hardest part of having a conversation surrounding police shootings in America?” Noah asked on his show Thursday. “It always feels like in America, it’s like, if you take a stand for something, you automatically are against something else. It’s such a strange world to be in.”

“You shouldn’t have to choose between the police and the citizens that they are sworn to protect,” he added.

Noah’s monologue came ahead of a shooting in Dallas, where snipers shot and killed four police officers “ambush-style” after a Black Lives Matter protest Thursday night.
