Voting for Jill Stein is a Moral Imperative if George H.W. Bush Votes for Clinton

When Seth MacFarlane warns people on Twitter that voting for Jill Stein will lead to Trump, he forgets that Hillary Clinton spread this photo of Barack Obama in 2008. President Obama’s campaign manager at the time described it as "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election." Furthermore, while Donald Trump is overtly xenophobic and utilizes racism to gain votes, Clinton also ran a 3 a.m. ad in 2008 that contained a “racist sub-message.” As stated by Harvard’s Orlando Patterson in The New York Times, “It is striking, too, that during the same weekend the ad was broadcast, Mrs. Clinton refused to state unambiguously that Mr. Obama is a Christian and has never been a Muslim.”

Speaking of Clinton’s 3 a.m. ad, George H.W. Bush ran a similar commercial against Dukakis in 1988. It was so offensive that Lee Atwater apologized for its racist message in a 1991 New York Times piece titled Gravely Ill, Atwater Offers Apology:

As manager of Mr. Bush's campaign, Mr. Atwater succeeded in making the case of Willie Horton, a convicted murderer, an issue against Mr. Dukakis.
Mr. Horton, who is black, raped a white woman and stabbed her husband while on a weekend furlough from a Massachusetts prison. The Bush campaign used the case to portray Mr. Dukakis, then Governor of Massachusetts, as a liberal who was soft on crime.
"In 1988," Mr. Atwater said, "fighting Dukakis, I said that I 'would strip the bark off the little bastard' and 'make Willie Horton his running mate.' I am sorry for both statements: the first for its naked cruelty, the second because it makes me sound racist, which I am not." Reputation as 'Ugly Campaigner'
Since being stricken last year, the 39-year-old Mr. Atwater has apologized on several occasions for many of the campaign tactics he once employed and for which he was criticized. But rarely has he spoken in such detail or with such candor as in the interview for the first-person Life article.
"In part because of our successful manipulation of his campaign themes, George Bush won handily," Mr. Atwater said. He conceded that throughout his political career "a reputation as a fierce and ugly campaigner has dogged me."
"While I didn't invent negative politics," he said, "I am one of its most ardent practitioners."

George H.W. Bush utilized racism to his advantage in 1988; to say Clinton didn’t in 2008 would be to ignore history.

Fast forward to 2016 and according to POLITICO, “Former President George H.W. Bush is bucking his party's presidential nominee and plans to vote for Hillary Clinton in November, according to a member of another famous political family, the Kennedys.” CNN writes “Bush 41 says he will vote for Clinton.”

George H.W. Bush plans to vote for Hillary Clinton. Paul Wolfowitz might vote for Clinton. Robert Kagan is voting for Clinton and is quoted as saying “I would say that a majority of people in my circle will vote for Hillary.” In fact, GOP hawks would rather have Clinton than Trump, as explained in a POLITICO piece titled GOP hawks declare war on Trump:

“Hillary is the lesser evil, by a large margin,” said Eliot Cohen, a former top State Department official under George W. Bush and a strategic theorist who argues for a muscular U.S. role abroad. Trump's election would be “an unmitigated disaster for American foreign policy," Cohen said, adding that "he has already damaged it considerably.”
Cohen, an Iraq war backer who is often called a neoconservative but said he does not identify himself that way, said he would "strongly prefer a third party candidate" to Trump, but added: "Probably if absolutely no alternative: Hillary."
In a March 1 interview with Vox, Max Boot, a military historian at the Council on Foreign Relations who backed the Iraq War and often advocates a hawkish foreign policy, said that he, too, would vote for Clinton over Trump. "I'm literally losing sleep over Donald Trump," he said. "She would be vastly preferable to Trump."

Since Trump is less militant and hawkish than Clinton according to Max Boot and other neocons, the Democrat in 2016 is preferable to the Republican.

If this doesn’t appall you, then you’ll have no problem voting for Hillary Clinton.

If, however, you fear the merger of Democrats and Republicans into one entity on war, foreign policy, and the utilization of the AUMF, then there’s only one answer: vote for Jill Stein.

On war and foreign policy, and especially on the issue of racism plaguing our nation, Jill Stein’s platform sends a transformative message to voters:

Enact an emergency Green New Deal to turn the tide on climate change, revive the economy and make wars for oil obsolete.
Improve economic and social conditions abroad to reduce the flow of immigrant refugees, in part by repealing NAFTA, ending the failed drug wars, and halting CIA and military interventions against democratically elected governments.
End the US’ role as the world’s arm supplier.
Improve economic and social conditions abroad to reduce the flow of immigrant refugees, in part by repealing NAFTA, ending the failed drug wars, and halting CIA and military interventions against democratically elected governments.
Freeze the bank accounts of countries that are funding terrorism, including the Saudi royal family.
End the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, withdrawing troops and military contractors.
End police brutality, mass incarceration and institutional racism within our justice system. Support the Black Lives Matter Movement.

The above goals represent only a small portion of Dr. Stein and Ajamu Baraka’s platform. Stein and Baraka offer progressives a genuine alternative to George H.W. Bush’s preferred candidate in 2016.

If you fear Dr. Stein will never get elected, then pray Bernie Sanders returns before November. Hillary Clinton is up only 1.3 points nationally over Trump and is tied in swing states. I explain here that even The New York Times admits Clinton might lose to Trump.

Also, this year gives voters the opportunity to destroy the lesser evil voting system that gave Americans Donald Trump’s rallies and Hillary Clinton surviving the FBI’s criminal investigation unscathed.

This election has blurred the lines between Democrats and Republicans, to the detriment of voters longing for transformative change. Hillary Clinton is either more militant or less racist than Trump; either way she’s not an acceptable candidate to many progressives. With Bernie Sanders being cheated by the DNC, and 5 DNC officials paying the price, Jill Stein has become a source of inspiration for millions of Bernie voters.

Finally, none of Trump’s major policy objectives will pass Congress as I explained during this CNN International appearance and another segment. Both Trump and Clinton are politicians first and human beings second; they’ll say anything and change nothing. Dr. Jill Stein is a human being before being a politician and this is unique in our corrupt political system.

Dr. Stein’s Dakota Pipeline protest shows that she’ll risk jail time to promote human rights. With Clinton, the FBI literally changed the definition of “intent” to ensure the former Secretary of State didn’t face indictments.

The vapid fear tactics regarding Trump being the end of the world ignore certain inconvenient facts. According to a September CNN poll, more American women trust Trump, than Clinton. The poll states that 39% of women find Clinton “honest and trustworthy” while 41% of women find Trump “honest and trustworthy.”

With Jill Stein, you can tell your grandchildren that when George H.W. Bush and GOP foreign policy hawks voted for Clinton, you decided to prevent the merger of both parties on war and foreign policy. In addition, Reddit has now entered Clinton’s email saga and I explain here how Reddit might sink the campaign. If it’s not Bill Clinton’s aides mailing a laptop with four years of Hillary Clinton’s emails (yes, actually mailing the laptop), it’s Reddit helping James Comey understand the definition of intent. As eloquently stated by Bloomberg, “The last time the laptop was seen was when it was put in the mail.”

With the murder of Terence Crutcher (watch this powerful Tim Black segment), it makes no sense to elect a Democrat who took money from prison lobbyists; perpetuating a system that continues to allow the killing of unarmed black citizens.

America can survive four years of Trump, but four years of Clinton making George H.W. Bush proud isn’t something that bodes well for the future of the Democratic Party. If Bernie Sanders doesn’t return to save Democrats from a Trump presidency, it’s a moral imperative for progressives to vote for Jill Stein.
