NY Times Spins Giuliani's Colossal Campaign Flop

Rather than putting into context Giuliani's laughably poor showing in the evangelical straw poll held over the weekend, the Times seemed to do its best to disguise Giuliani's painfully public belly-flop.

With his next-to-last finish in the poll (comfortably behind "Undecided"), it's hard to recall a more memorable instance when a front-running White House candidate was so thoroughly embarrassed on the national stage. Yet the Times' news account read like it came from the Giuliani communications team, emphasizing how the candidate courageously came to face his most distrusting critics and how, through the power of "direct talk," he (allegedly) won them over. That's great spin. It just didn't reflect reality. And neither did the Times' reporting.

psst, Eric, you know the new NYTimes motto box, all the news that's fit to click and etc?
Well one of the etc is "all the news that the lobbies want us to know".
Rudy or Hill, they are in like Flint either way.

I heard that he tried to use the 'spontaneous' phonecall from the wife bit, but this time it backfired. When the call came through and he told the audience that it was his wife, the audience shouted back "which one?"

just kidding. Ghouliani would never use a cheap trick twice...

It's almost as if the NEW YORK Times is more
interested in the goings-on of a former NEW YORK
mayor than (respectively) a former governor of some state
out west (or down south?), a former governor of that state up
around Boston, & some wacky Texas Republican congressman.

Indeed, go figure.
