Eric was trained by Hubert Givenchy. After returning from Paris, he designed for Koos Van den Akker, Bob Evans, and Scott Barrie and in 1987, launched his own label with the goal “to create clothes that are essential, without artifice or contrivance”.

His designs have been featured on the covers of Cosmopolitan, Spy, Bazaar, Glamour and Vanity Fair, and he has dressed such celebrity clients as Salma Hayek, Melanie Griffith, Vanessa Williams, Mariah Carey, Geena Davis, Maria Shriver, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Cattrall, Kathy Bates, Marcia Gay Harden and Goldie Hawn. Sadly he was forced to close his business last year.

At that time, he "came out" in a 3 page spread in the New York Times as the infamous Blogger Fluff Chance. (His blogging Pseudonym) He holds no punches when talking about the inside world of fashion - and surprisingly - some of his closest friends and followers are other designers - he had the courage to say what they wanted to but were afraid to. He is close friends with Andre Leon Talley. While his blog can be very critical, it is always well reasoned and educated. Eric can be very positive and writes eloquently about a wide variety of topics.

Eric recently shot a pilot for a realty series on Sundance with John Bartlett - they are waiting to see if it will be picked up.

There's a new one hot off the presses that was published a couple of days ago, or maybe...

Ultrasuede: In Search Of Halston Part II

Posted May 3, 2010 | 00:54:44 (EST)

This film has stayed with me the whole weekend after having seen it on Friday night. That's usually the sign of a good film, but in this case I'm not altogether convinced. The things I can't seem to let go of are not the moments of beauty or enlightenment. I...

Last night's world premiere of the Whitney Sudler-Smith's documentary "Ultrasuede: In Search of Halston" was obviously a much sought after ticket. It was a fashion happening when you consider the cast within and without. Andre Leon Talley was credited on screen with having made the film possible along with...

Ungaro is DDB.

Deaf, dumb and blind. No one ever expected the company to have the same footprint when it passed from the hands of Emanuel to Asim Abdullah. These changes always bring an eruption of sorts. The old timers want it to stay the same and the new kids want radical, news...
