All day yesterday I had the jitters. Like a kid on Christmas Eve. Or a young gay teen the night before a Lady Gaga concert. Or like someone who just slammed two, Five-Hour Energy shots, back-to-back. (Wait, I think that really happened.) Anywho: FOOTBALL SEASON WAS HERE! FINALLY!
I...

Maybe it's just because I watched Dazed and Confused on cable. Or maybe because it's back-to-school time and I'm craving knee socks and a new Trapper Keeper. But here I am again, giddy with excitement over Gatorade's next installment of REPLAY.
For those of you new to...

I have Olympic Fever. I really do. Sure, others might call it a sinus infection, but I've got it bad. And it doesn't seem to be going away. The cure involves plenty of liquids, plus lying in bed and watching TV for the entire long weekend, starting tonight with the...

Had enough of talk of Tim Tebow's Super Bowl ad? Check out a preview of Gatorade's new Super Bowl ad airing tomorrow. WARNING: It's goose-bump inducing.
And if you want to see my Gatorade "Journey"...

As I mentioned in my last post, Gatorade invited me down to Miami to train in their mobile Performance Lab that they have set up for Super Bowl week. I prepped like a true champion, woke up at the crack of dawn, and went head-to-sweaty-head with the Jets'...

Anyone remember my blog about working out at the treadmill and my Lululemon pants fell down? And yes, I was sans underwear (like Venus Williams, perhaps?!)
Let's just hope this does NOT happen on Monday morning, February 1 at 7:30am.
I'm headed down to South Beach...

It's rare that you can say that you actually enjoyed yourself during a luncheon that -- while chowing down on Roasted Autumn Vegetable Tian with Red Pepper Purée -- speakers were discussing nausea, heartburn and traveler's diarrhea. But alas, I did. I was cordinally invited to the Pepto Bismol Insta...

Growing up in SoCal, I have a stereotypical notion of a skate rat. Skinny kid. Baggy clothes. Long bangs hanging in his eyes. Terrorizing ladies at the strip mall by doing crazy jumps onto the sidewalks. Cut to skate rats laughing and high-fiving the other shaggy looking teens waiting at...

It's horrendously hot. It's hideously humid. No wonder I have visions of the Winter Olympics dancing in my head.
There are a dozens of up-and-coming athletes who are looking to go for the gold and the glory in 2010 -- but one rising young snowboarding star is also looking to...

To many, the biggest sports story of the weekend was the NFL Draft in New York City. I had the chance to go to the Draft, just a quick subway ride away. Instead, I chose to drive two hours to Easton, PA --...

My Facebook Friend Serena Williams is at it again. And besides Scrabble, I found something else I just might beat her at: Golf!
Gatorade gave me a sneak preview of Serena's video, which is part of their new video series "Focus on your Game: Golf Tips from Tiger."...

In Manny's defense, I hadn't really thought this whole thing through. I mean, who heads to Arizona for Spring Training ... basks in the glory of the Dodgers' new facility (even though she's a Giants fan) ... chats up Tommy Lasorda ... scarfs down a few hot dogs ... then...

Yesterday, the folks at Gatorade introduced a new campaign for G2, their low-cal sports drink with less calories (just 25 vs. regular Gatorade's 50) -- appealing to more types of athletes.
The campaign features an everyday athlete, matched up with a pro athlete who happens to have the same name....

Ahhh, college hoops. The body paint. The outspoken coaches (like Bobby Knight or John Chaney or Geno Auriemma or who could forget Andy Kennedy). The unruly mascots. The young and wild players getting in and out of trouble. The rowdy fans. The rowdy female...

Add A-Rod to the list of players now branded with the Scarlet Letter (A for Anabolic Steroids, perhaps?) According to a report on SI.com, four sources have confirmed that he was indeed juicing back in 2003. Rodriguez joins players like Mark McGwire, Roger Clemens, Rafael Palmeiro and Barry Bonds,...

Obviously, this is not really breaking news -- just like Obama being a Steeler fan was not breaking news either. But this is definitely noteworthy: We now have a president that goes out on a limb to root for a team and does not pander to both sides! Maybe...

Ah, the ongoing gender debate over Fantasy Football. It's just another example of how men and women enjoy sports differently. At the mere mention of the word "fantasy" (in relation to sports, of course), most women conjure up thoughts of men poring over stats for weeks in preparation for their...

Overheard in a Columbus Circle gym locker room this week in New York City: "Sure, he called Elisha Cuthbert 'sloppy seconds,' but players trash talk their exes -- and each other's moms -- all the time. Do you really think the Stars have been gunning for him since he signed?"...
