Posted: 11/25/10 02:55 PM ET

1. My Dog Belinda survived pneumonia.
2. My husband of 21 and half years is funny.
3. My grandchildren are fabulous and funny.
4. Obama was elected and will be again--despite all the kibbitzing.
5. I remember everything but forgive anyway.

Two thumbs up! And I can't believe our lists are so similar, considering we're in such different places in life. (I'm thankful that my husband of 21 years is still funny, even though my children are ages 3 and 5, funny and fabulous. I'm a late-in-life- mom, for sure. Sometimes I do wish they were my grandchildren, instead, so that I could send them home, LOL!)

I remember erica best for writing abusively and exploitaively about her 2nd husband, she's had so many husbands, all the ex's are so fortunate.
Dearest Erica, Obama will not be elected again, and I care not a whit about your dog.

Am thankful for new beginnings. Am going to summon every bit of courage I have and ask out the hilarious coffee dude ( with the giant curls) at Starbucks. Even though I still miss my old boyfriend. He isn't coming back. Oh well you have move on or bad things happen to your soul.

Erica, glad you're back. Your list sums it all up so well.

Even though I woke up with a ass kicking headache (courtesy of Mike's hard lemonade), I am thankful. For?

1. Being alive and kickin' it. Seriously, it is a gift to be able to dance naked around my own house. Perhaps not so much to be my neighbors, but still.

2. Being a girl. We're from Mars and their from Venus...nuff said.

3. Having my girls. Dixie and Sally bring me more joy than I've ever known.

4. Having my family. I love them more every day.

5. Friends I can count on. Rare, but priceless; don't settle for just an acquaintance.

6. Whole Foods being open on Thanksgiving. My serious procrastination habit has gotten me into a pickle. Who's to know my family mac/cheese recipe came from the deli??? shhhhhh

Thankful for old lovers. Without them, I wouldn't have learened to not make the mistakes I didn't when with my lover of 24 years who isn't here any more because he died. Thankful that my first lover who I haven't seen in 30 years just called me after having found me on the net!!!!! We were on the phone for almost 2 hours and this has been just the best holiday season since my lover died. Life does get better.

What a strange thing:

Ms. Jong - last night I dreamed that I was at a holiday party, and you were there, too. No one had introduced us, but when we were left alone in the room for a moment, I was compelled to take the opportunity to bashfully introduce myself, so I could tell you how much I loved your novel Fanny, and how important it was to me, at a depressing and frightening "moment" in my life... You said thanks - like almost any author would - then the dream moved on to other subjects, and characters...

I would not have even remembered this dream, or part of a dream, if I hadn't seen a post by Erica Jong, while getting up in the morning and gathering myself for the day... it jogged my memory - Weird!

OMG I am so happy. I have something in common with Erica Jong. (I love her writing and read FOF at a wildly inappropriate young age!)

I , too, have a funny husband of 21 1/2 years. Humor and animal magnetism.
And I believe in our President.
