Urfather Washington, Polychrome carved basswood, 74" x 55" x 3", 2012
Urfather Washington is one of five sculptural portraits of the Founding Fathers as seen through the mystification and mythification of history. The Urfathers denatured forms reflect the irrational dogma at play in recasting the Founders as gun-toting, bible-thumping, xenophobic, anti-intellectuals.
