I'm Going to Disagree with Arianna -- and Scream for Clinton to Step Down

Why?

By bringing up Bobby Kennedy's assassination in conjunction with reasons she should continue her race to become the Democratic Nominee she has officially lost her mind. It's beyond irresponsible and beyond reprehensible.

Just the other day I was willing to hug it out and even push for an Obama/Clinton ticket.

Today I realize this candidate will go to any lengths, including the discussion of assassination, to get what she wants, and I am disgusted.

Please don't tell me this was an innocent turn of phrase meant to make some point.

It's not. We all know Senator Clinton knows better and says NOTHING innocent.

Clinton says, "My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it."

Yeah, I'm guessing those white, blue-collar voters just ate that up.

While cleaning their guns.

My call from February 12th, 2008 stands now, more than ever.

Senator Clinton, Step Down NOW.

hat-tip Donklephant.

Erin Kotecki Vest normally is angry at HRC, but not usually THIS angry over at Queen of Spain Blog. She even really liked her once.

Why? By bringing up Bobby Kennedy's assassination in conjunction with reasons she should continue her race to become the Democratic Nominee she has officially lost her mind. It's beyond irresponsibl...

Sure, even though she can't beat Obama by getting the most delegates in the primary -- according to the rules of the game -- she is the best candidate to beat McCain. How? She talks about electoral maps (that count in the general election NOT in the Dem primaries) and Carl Rovian analysis of those rules as a distraction from the rules and game she's in. Obama has beat her at the game they're in by figuring out the primary game to his advantage, winning over her huge name recognition, her husband, a loved Dem president, and their political machine developed over years. She's asking people to consider ignoring the fact that she hasn't beat him according to the rules of this primary game but to overlook that and look at polls that are wrong often days before an election let alone months ahead when the Dem nominee hasn't even been picked yet.

Oh my but she's good at dangling shiny distractions in front of people's eyes. But she's been beaten by an amazing candidate who figured out how to do just that...to overcome more than distant polls. And he'll do the same in the general election. He doesn't have to follow Rovian plans. He's got plans and an electoral map of his own. Scream that to the superdelegates and let's get on with it!!

Hillary knew exactly what she was saying. It's the next logical step in the rhetoric she's been spewing all week.
Ask yourself why is it ok for first Huckabee, now Clinton to insinuate assassination about this man?

The MSM was all over Obama about a bitter comment but they get a pass on this s**t? What would happen if he had said this about them, Hillary in particular?

This is one of those rare moments in America that everyone can see the bias evident in this society.

Dog whistles to those who would.
By Clinton and Huckabee and likely sanctioned by McCain, Bush, Cheney, Rove.

This is a warning people.

American racists are unwilling to pay homage to a Black man. Listen to Hannity, Buchanan, Carlson, Limbaugh, and all of FOX. They were originally anti-Hillary. Then they woke up and realized they may have to pledge allegiance to a country led by a black man. Oh sh*t! They flipped after South Carolina and began to support Hillary, so at least if the republicans lose, they have a White person at the helm.

What if it wasn't an unintentional gaffe but intended to help her get out sooner rather than later? Think about it. She saves face as lots of folks are doing more than yelling for her removal. The SD's start to really come out for BHO and even some folks in the last three contests are appalled and give BHO unmistakable wins - even in PR. She steps down after the gaffe, someone else is named VP, she takes a back seat for the rest of the campaign season and is not nearly as intense or boisterous as she's been or could be expected to be, while she hopes that BHO loses because of people who won't vote for him (her core votes as she describes them) and then she can say I told you so while claiming no responsibility for the outcome. And if he wins, no harm, no foul. She's goes back to the senate and waits for her next turn.

Makes me go hhhhmmmmm.

Nope. Way overthinking it. Her comment simply reveals who she really is.

I was deeply into organized athletics as a young man, starting with pee wee leagues in baseball, football and basketball when I was only 7, and playing basketball through college. I'm sure others who have played organized sports would agree with me in the observation that it is not winning that reveals a person's character.

It is losing.

One can clearly see the content of a person's character when they lose. The way they conduct themselves; the things that they say.

And we have just seen a striking example of that with Hillary Clinton. Indeed, over the last couple of months with an increasingly sad series of desperate campaign tactics and statements.

Capped off by this one.

Interesting observation. I've always felt that the tears started to flow in NH because she knew that she was losing. The real tragedy may be that when she was "rescued" in that contest she lost the ability to navigate the difficult process of losing. Consequently, she is hanging on, and every event she wins or comes close to winning makes facing the truth that much harder. The irony is that her supporters are doing more to hurt her by continuing to encourage her to stay in the contest. She needs to get out for her own psychic and emotional well-being.

klo - funny that you should mention this...I made a post examining just this idea:
I don't have the original first part - I had to cut it down to make it fit to Huffpo. But the first part was basically discussing how I feel sad for her...deep down she knows it's over, but she has to save face somehow - you can see it IN her face how scared she is, how absolutely defeated and exhausted she is. So, you can imagine when you are that tired you really DON'T know what you are saying. Not that I'm excusing her behavior, I think she is so clouded in her judgment right now, she is just not seeing straight. I think Bill knows it too - that's why he's been playing the part of Bubba and making "mistakes" c'mon - he is NOT that stupid.
Here's the second part -
He's (Bill) with her - he supports her, but he knows deep down that Obama will be the nominee/president. Why do you think he keeps bringing up the Obama/Clinton ticket - because they need Hillary's supporters to be comfortable w/ that as well as Obama supporters so they don't feel he is caving in.
I honestly do think that she will be his VP...she will be HIS support system, and between the two of them, they will be unstoppable against McCain.
ONLY IF she can get her shit together in the next few months...if not, then she shouldn't get VP.

Senator Clinton's chances to be on Obama's ticket are now nil, and it is doubtful that they ever existed at all. He has proven himself to be too savvy a campaigner to put a woman with all her baggage, which she is accumulating daily, on his ticket.

Favorite    Flag as abusive Posted 11:15 AM on 05/24/2008

That's it. She has to go. Those who have quietly whispered that she cannot be the veep because they worry that Obama would, "need a food taster," now have the proof that this is who the Clintons are. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I'm so upset about this I am shaking.

If there is one thing responsible people in the public eye know, it's that you cannot put suggestions into the media that crazy individuals will interpret as a call to arms, literally.

Public figures do not discuss things like this for this very reason.

This woman is evil. She must be stopped. Other people who deal with mass media or are public figures will understand just what a pure evil move this is.

And hopefully this shuts up anyone who thinks they will force this frigging "dream team" down Obama (and his supporters) throats.

And if they need further explanation as to why she cannot be veep, know this. She takes lobbyist money. She takes PAC money. Obama doesn't. He can't partner with someone who does. End of argument. Perfectly rational argument for why she cannot be on the ticket.

Oh yeah, and she solicits by suggestion, through the media zeitgeist, to mentally unbalanced assasins. There's that as well. She's actively hoping someone will kill him. This is like posting on "Craigslist for Crazies."

Evil. This is the botoxed face of pure evil

Forget about Arkansas that's where the Clintons made their bones and established their ring of power. ABSOLUTE POWER ... which corrupts ABSOLUTELY. This is where the psychopathy of the Clintons was anchored and it spread from there ... we will be finding skeletons for decades to come from the ravaging they did to our country, our legal system, and to the office of the Presidency. Clintons belong in prison, along with all those who they corrupted along the way.

Seems to me she accidentally spoke her mind. Obama has many good reasons not to choose Hillary as his VP, but none better than to protect his own life. Hillary's shown that she'll do whatever it takes to become president, don't think for a second that assassination isn't on the menu.

IMHO, I believe that BOTH Clintons' remarks in SC, OH, PA, WV, and KY were geared to give racists permission to vote based on skin color; and, HRC's remarks today were geared to suggest that Obama-haters have her permission to assassinate Sen. Obama. After all, she wants to be president and that's certainly one way to achieve her goal. Obama wasn't "electable" to begin with, y'know. So why not correct a nomination/presidency that was STOLEN from her in the quickest, easiest way?

I am shocked by false sniper tales, threats of nuclear holocaust, hints at assassination of politicians,.... does that mean that I am sexist if I won't vote for that person????????????

Here's the plan, Hillary's plan. Covertly divide the Dem party so that Obama loses. McCain will be the next Pres, and Hillary will blame us for not supporting a president that was fit to beat mcCain. Then she will be our great white hope in 2012. I cannot wait that long. Aside from losing my house I will devote every penny and hour I can to getting Obama in.

Hillary's pivot / explanation is that SHE is RFK - she said she holds his seat in the Senate. Once again, it's all about her.

Hillary keep it up, maybe the New Yorkers who voted you in the Senate are as sick of you as the rest of us and will get rid of you.

I thought Bush was bad, Hillary is worse.
