Summer in D.C. means men in seersucker suits, outdoor movie screenings, Jazz in the Garden and happy hour on the patio. At A BAR, opening tonight at 25th St. and Pennsylvania Ave. in the West End, another huge patio awaits post-work Washingtonians looking for cool drinks and a relaxing atmosphere.

Happy hour deals, offered Monday to Friday from 4-7 p.m., include $6 specialty cocktails like spicy "Midnight In Paris" with homemade jalapeño-habanero grenadine. There's also $4 "Patio Punch" and $5 glasses of select red and white wines. Brennan Adams, who previously helmed the bars at Masa 14 and El Centro D.F., crafted the drinks menu.

Hungry? Try half-price small plates like crostinis and paninis, along with light and refreshing shrimp ceviche off a menu by chef Garen Minton (formerly of Volt and Graffiato).

Check out a slideshow of some of A BAR's offerings and stop by tonight for happy hour specials until close.
