I've written recently about stores and retail events whose proceeds go to worthy causes, allowing all of us shopaholics to do well while doing good. So I hope all of you will forgive me if this edition focuses on one such store literally close to my heart:

My team and I arranged the donation of this amazing townhouse, the former home of Elizabeth Taylor and Mike Todd, and later the retailer Felissimo, for the event, a perfect way to buy for those you love at Valentine's Day. Proceeds will benefit the American Heart Association. Shoppers can visit from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on those two days, and find an extraordinary variety of designers, retailers and jewelers at all price points. Among the vendors:

All of these vendors -- and more -- will participate in a fabulous five-story space that will be as much fun to visit as to shop. Why did I help arrange all this? Because my family, like so many others', has been touched by heart disease, and I'm determined that no one else's family should be. Despite extraordinary strides in research and treatment, heart disease and stroke are our nation's number one and number three killers. But we can eliminate these in our lifetimes. This shop is just one way to help those you love in many ways - through a gift of jewelry, clothing or toys - the gift of giving - and the gift of life.
In addition, the annual Go Red for Women luncheon, also benefiting the AHA, will be held February 18 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Grand Hyatt. I'm a co-chair of this event, and hope we'll see some of you, my Faithful Shopaholics, there. It's been my honor and privilege to work with the AHA.
