Federico Barillas Schwank is an attorney and former law fellow at the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL), the world’s leading organization promoting legal environments that protect and advance civil society. He has nearly a decade of experience in international humanitarian and human rights law, having represented indigenous clients before the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights and victims of abuse in U.S. asylum procedures. Before joining ICNL, Federico worked at the Public International Law and Policy Group and the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. He is also an experienced immigrants’ rights advocate, having worked at the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama and the Southern Poverty Law Center. Federico holds dual law degrees in the United States and Guatemala.
