In Spain, canning seafood is considered a desirable gourmet treat. Fresh seafood is preserved in its own juices or premium olive oil, with just a touch of sea salt. The cans are something you can keep in your pantry and serve for tapas all year round. But, just because it's in a can, doesn't mean it's cheap.

I wish I could find the tinned tuna Wild Oats sold before Whole Foods bought the chain. They were tuna steaks in the flavor of ginger, sesame and I think olive oil. They were freak'n wonderful.
If I had 50 bucks to throw away on a can of seafood, I'd be a Republican!
( because only a person without a lick of sense would pay so much for a few ounces of seafood)
