The Oceanaire, preferably in San Diego!  (www.theoceanaire.com)  Everything is caught or flown-in DAILY and it's like walking upstairs into a 1940's cruise ship dining room!

Dan & Louis Oyster Bar on Ankeny in Portland, OR is old, funky and fabulous! They have a great selection and good shuckers, no shell pieces. Also, Hog Island Oyster Company in San Francisco and Napa. They have my favorite oysters, the creamy Tomales Bay oysters as well as many others. Great raw and also grilled with a killer carmelized fennel butter.

Posie's....right on the Appilachicola River outside of Tallahassee....boat docks out back, unloads their haul and then they go straight to your table all shucked and ready to eat.

My other favorite is anyplace with a diverse selection that will give you a variety. I want some Melpaques and Kumomotos on my plate thank you very much. : )

You can come at me with all the new "in" places, but the Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station will always top my list. Follow that with a cocktail and Campbell Apartment? Now that is a New York evening.
