Take a glance at recent presidential elections, current candidates, or social justice polling, and it's tempting to predict the GOP's doom. Democrats have won the popular vote in five of the last six presidential elections. Hillary Clinton is the odds-on favorite for 2016. Sixty percent of Americans now support same sex marriage.

But once you look past the presidents and big-issue polling, Republicans start to look a lot stronger. In fact, outside of the White House, they're arguably stronger than ever.

The following three charts break down the Republican advantages in Congress, state legislatures, and governorships. Note that the pro-GOP gap is about as big as it's ever been in modern political history.
