Fiona Dawson
Fiona Dawson is a producer and the host of TransMilitary, a Martian Entertainment-produced docu-reality series contrasting the lives of U.S. and UK transgender service members. Having graduated from the University of Essex with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, Fiona spent six months volunteering in rural Bangladesh and teaching English for a year in Portugal. Her early career was in Houston in resource development, marketing and communications for nonprofit organizations. In 2009 she was elected Female Grand Marshal of the Houston LGBT Pride Parade and is a former member of the National Board of Directors of the Human Rights Campaign. After raising $20,000 on Kickstarter, she filmed a pilot show in India on sex trafficking, prostitution and HIV/AIDS. In 2012 Fiona hosted segments for HereTV during the Republican and Democratic conventions. Fiona serves on the Board of Directors for the National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA). She is North-East Regional Instructor for The Leader's Institute and produces media content to realize a world with equal rights, respect and responsibility.

I think it's safe to say that I am aware of my emotions. When I saw my friend Marine Staff Sergeant Eric Alva standing behind President Obama as the latter signed the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010, I, along with countless others, exuded euphoria!
