Before each game, Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt strolls through the grounds visiting fans, a tradition started by his father, team founder Lamar Hunt. Kansas City-style barbecue is a draw, but Hunt believes Arrowhead Stadium's massive facilities are a primary reason that Chiefs tailgating is so popular. "We can park 25,000 cars and still have plenty of room for tailgating," he says.

Best tailgate partyb I ever went to was In Mn at a Vikings/Packers game--we never made it inside the stadium. Gave our tickets away and tailgated throughout the game (watched it on TV in the parking lot.

Kansas City Rocks!!!

They got #1 right. After that, there are 31 second place teams :)

In all seriousness, I have been to 18 NFL stadiums around the league. No one comes close to tailgating like the fans at Arrowhead in KC. It's like the craziest college football environment in the country on steroids.

If I had to pick another NFL venue that even vaguely approximates it, it'd be Green Bay

Yep KC is the best! You get spoiled if you go there first.

Sports Nation gave Houston top billing on tailgating and not a mention of Houston here.I guess it just depends on who you ask.

It's all fun no matter where you tailgate. But in San Diego you come in Sandals, tanktops and shorts. It's always sunny. And even on a cold day it's still 65 degrees.

Chicago being on the list is a joke. I used to live in Chicago and it was too expensive to tailgate. Fans usually would park near the Loop, ride a bus down to the stadium because to park at Soldier Field cost a $100. So how can you tailgate without the tailgate?

I realize that SF may not be known for a great TG but they are just a different bread. My friends and i usually do the regular old college style beer and bbq, but last year a dorky guy with glasses and his wife pulled up next to us and met some friends, we were making fun of them amongst ourselves for being in polo shirts and looking out of place. next thing you know this guy pulls out a briefcase lookin thing that folds out into a nice picnic table, pulls out a grill with a stand and pops a few bottles of win. Dude grilled some salmon and asparagus while poppin bottles of wine, big leagued us big time!!
