Fran Drescher currently stars as Los Angeles florist Fran in TV Land’s original sitcom Happily Divorced, which will premiere its second season on Wednesday, March 7, 2012. Written by Fran Drescher (The Nanny) and Peter Marc Jacobson (The Nanny), Happily Divorced is inspired by Drescher’s real-life experience and revolves around Fran as she reenters the dating world after finding out that her realtor husband of 18 years is gay. The show focuses on how she juggles her new relationships and her ex-husband post-divorce while still living under the same roof.

Fran Drescher has been described as a "Russell" –- she has the comic timing of Rosalind Russell, the curves of Jane Russell, and the tenacity of a Jack Russell!

Fran received two Emmy nominations and two Golden Globe nominations for her portrayal as the lovable Miss Fine on the hit CBS series The Nanny, a show she also created, wrote, directed, and executive produced.

An accomplished film actress, Drescher won Esquire magazine’s Five Minute Oscar for her memorable performance in the mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap. She has co-starred in countless films throughout her career, with the likes of Robin Williams, Dan Aykroyd, Tim Robbins, and Billy Crystal, and worked with such esteemed directors as Rob Reiner, Milos Forman, and Francis Ford Coppola. But she is most proud of her starring turn opposite Timothy Dalton in Beautician and the Beast, a film she also executive produced. Most recently Fran has lent her inimitable voice to the upcoming animated feature Hotel Transylvania, to be released summer 2012.

On stage, Fran Drescher has had the privilege of performing in Ron Ribman’s Rug Merchants of Chaos at The Pasadena Playhouse in Los Angeles, The Exonerated in New York City, Neil LaBute’s Some Girls, and the New York production of Nora Ephron’s Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Fran also performed in a special production of Camelot at the renowned Lincoln Center.

Drescher is also an accomplished author. Enter Whining, her first book, which was on The New York Times' bestseller list. Leveraging her success as the Nanny, Fran's third and most recent book is an illustrated children’s story called Being Wendy. The book sends an empowering message to parents and children about celebrating uniqueness and outside-the-box thinking. For her second book, Cancer Schmancer (also a New York Times bestseller), Fran received the prestigious NCCS Writer’s Award. On June 21, 2011, Fran celebrated 11 years of wellness as a uterine cancer survivor.

A leading health advocate, Fran is the president and visionary of the Cancer Schmancer Movement, where she has turned her pain into purpose. She was instrumental in getting the United States' first Gynecologic Cancer Education and Awareness Act passed into law in 2007. For her accomplishments as a health-care advocate, she is the recipient of the John Wayne Institute Woman of Achievement Award, the Gilda Award, City of Hope Woman of the Year Award, the Albert Einstein Medical School Lifetime Achievement Award, and many more. The Washingtonian named her one of the most effective celebrity lobbyists on Capitol Hill. Fran has also been appointed to the distinguished position of Special Envoy for Women’s Health Issues by the U.S. State Department.

Fran’s mission is to use her global celebrity to reach the masses with her compelling personal story of survival. She empowers women of allied nations as well as U.S. service men and women around the world with passion and knowledge about healthy living and the importance of early detection. She travels globally in this diplomacy role and has met with heads of state, cancer patients, local NGOs, and others fighting cancer throughout Europe, Africa, Australia, and North America. Fran was honored at the Knesset in Israel for being the first Jewish actress who played an openly Jewish character embraced by not only Israel but many Arab nations throughout the Middle East. Fran was most recently awarded the Ally for Equality Award by the Human Rights Campaign for her efforts to defend civil liberties.
