As CNN is reporting today, the much-maligned and Crypt Keeper-faced Don Imus feels that he has "apologized enough."

That is some nappy-headed bullshit.

The truth of the matter is, he has apologized TOO MUCH. If you ask me, he should never have apologized in the first place. An apology is a meaningful moral position. It is not simply a request for forgiveness from a wronged party, but also an acknowledgment of one's own failings. And it demands understanding on both sides. But Imus, while looking like one of the riders of the apocalypse in a snap-buttoned Wrangler shirt to keep his rotting corpse safe from the elements, is not sorry.

I mean, he is: he's sorry that he got in trouble, he's sorry that people don't seem to feel like not being mad at him anymore, he's sorry that he hasn't changed his hairstyle since 1983, he's sorry that black people are allowed to play basketball in the first place which is how the world got into this mess at all. But those aren't the things he's apologizing for. His apologies are about racism, and sexism, and the modern media. And when it comes to these issues, his stream-of-consciousness, big-mouthed, broadcast bloviating is much more honest.

Did I mention how old he looks?
