Halloween is just around the corner and if you're in a party-throwing mood, it's time to start preparing. Whether you're throwing a little celebration for friends, coworkers, or the kids, we've got you covered with 5 great snack ideas.

It's no secret that Halloween equals candy, but your party doesn't have to be a frightening calorie buster. Leave the processed, packaged snacks to the trick-or-treaters and make your own healthier versions of those classic candy bars we all know and love.

1. REESE'S
Reese's peanut butter cups are all about the heavenly combination of chocolate and peanut butter. You can still keep this combo, but make it healthier by adding fruit. Set out fruit such as apples and bananas for dipping in dishes of peanut butter and Nutella.

2. TWIX
Twix are made with cookie bars, caramel, and chocolate. You can make your own healthier version using animal crackers drizzled with a little melted dark chocolate and homemade caramel. Freeze them for a few minutes so the toppings settle.

3. TAKE 5
The five components of the popular Take 5 bar include chocolate, pretzel, peanut, peanut butter, and caramel. Spread out large pretzel sticks over wax paper and drizzle melted dark chocolate, peanut butter, and homemade caramel over the top. You can also freeze these for a few minutes so all that sticky goodness isn't so sticky!

4. 3 MUSKETEERS
Enjoy your own healthier version of this whipped and fluffy chocolate bar. For your homemade 3 Musketeers, use ripened bananas as your "fluffy." Dip them in melted dark chocolate and put them in the freezer for a few minutes to harden the chocolate.

5. NESTLÉ CRUNCH
Crunch bars are all about the chocolate and, of course, the crunch produced by those amazing crispies. Use popcorn to satisfy that urge for something crunchy and mix in cocoa and melted nutella. It's the perfect salty, sweet, and crunchy combination. For every bag of popcorn, add a dash or cocoa and one tablespoon of Nutella.
