Gary Dauphin is a writer and editor living with is girlfriend and cat in Downtown Los Angeles. He was born to Haitian immigrant parents in 1968 and grew up in Queens, NYC. For the last seven or so years he's been busy building, editing and managing websites for African Americans and their various corporate admirers, community/programming portals such as Blackplanet.com, Africana.com and AOL Black Voices. For the seven or so years before that he mostly bounced around Fort Greene, Brooklyn, making friends, going on dates, playing videogames and writing about movies for the Village Voice, Vibe and a few other publications. He's also had a fairly nice run as a talking head, appearing on BET, CNN, NPR, MSNBC and a couple of local Fox affiliates.
