One of three Americans over age 80 develops Alzheimer's disease. Patients and families often ask me what can be done to keep the brain healthy. I have come up with a list of what I consider important in maintaining brain health. While this list is more pertinent to an older group, some parts of it are relevant for younger folk as well. A guiding principle is to remember that what is good for the heart is just as good for the brain.
