Palin's Latest Health Care Lie

What's Your Reaction:

In the face of Sunday night's historic House vote on health-care reform, former Alaska governor and losing VP candidate Sarah Palin -- clearly eyeing a bid for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination -- has been waxing apoplectic on her Twitter account about the impending legislation.

She also mixed up several word salads in an interview with Bill O'Reilly that was so garbled even O'Reilly had to cut her off several times. Whew!

Palin -- whose duplicitous allegation of "death panels" helped establish the rancorous tone of the national discussion about health-care reform -- has consistently shown her capacity for deceit throughout the debate. The truth never seems to get in the way of her ugly and relentless political opportunism.

2010-03-22-palinangry3.jpg

Her latest Twitter posting wallowed in the same shameful duplicity of her "death panel" hyperbole -- which earned her the dubious award of Lie of the Year from PolitiFact.com. Apparently, Palin is working on a two-peat in 2010.

Yesterday she tweeted:

Shocking new questions re:whether military healthcare plans r protected under Obamacare. How will underpaid troops afford their own purchase? [sic]

Palin then posted a Twitter link to a National Review blog raising the issue of whether military health care plans would be covered under "Obamacare" -- the derogatory term that the right-wing has labeled health care reform legislation.

As is often the case with Palin, it was as duplicitous as it was disingenuous.

Palin -- who her former aides in Alaska say was often "clueless" about the legislative process -- was apparently unaware that the House was in the midst of passing legislation yesterday (by a bipartisan vote of 403 to 0) that specifically protected all members of the military from any requirements mandated by the health-care legislation.

John Rowan, head of Vietnam Veterans of America, lauded the passage of the House legislation and said that it "ensures that health care programs for veterans, active duty military, retired military, and their families/survivors will not be affected negatively by the pending health care reform legislation."

He labeled Palin's assertions -- and others who joined her in raising such allegations -- a "false alarm."

The VVA does not appreciate spreading rumors that are not accurate by any political partisan from any point of the political spectrum. Issues affecting veterans and their families are not, should not, and must not become partisan footballs to bat around. VVA decries any effort, by anyone, that would do just that.

Retired U.S. Army General and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Eric K. Shinseki was also appalled by the unfounded charges.

Fears that Veterans health care and TRICARE will be undermined by the health reform legislation are unfounded. I am confident that the legislation being voted on today will provide the protections afforded our nation's Veterans and the health care they have earned through their service.

What I could not really fathom (understand) is, how are the Republican Party viewing all this COMEDY SHOW starring their little darling $arah?
What is the GOP's strategic point ushering poor $arah into making a FOOL out of herself for everybody's delight? domestically and internationally? When will they (the GOP's) even begin to accept the fact that their little darling $arah is a complete idiot? a mass of matter that has a loud screeching mouth and an empty head?
When? I want to know.....if there is anyone of you here or anywhere who could give me a rational, logical, or a philosophical answer, I sure would appreciate a response. Thanking you in advance.

This is completely off the subject of healthcare, but this thought just occurred to me so I couldn't resist posting it. In honor of the eponymous Maury Maverick, who coined the word gobbledygook, Palin's upcoming ghost-written literary effort should be called Babbledybook!!

If you can stand to do so, take a minute and click on the link to the O'Reilly video clip above (PalinTV.com - a site I was unaware of). It's stupefying.

I want her to run and get the nomination so badly that I can hardly stand it. Can anyone (wink-wink) imagine her debating against the president? I'd pay to see that live! There's probably a law against illiterate and insane people debating the educated and well adjusted.

I think it's interesting that the direct mail firm that works for Palin & her pac was also used to buy her books...

I mentioned this before back at the beginning of this thread, BUT

on a Day ( yesterday ) when everyone was tuned in to watch this historic Bill voted on
the topic on EVERYONES mind was ' health care '.

She has been ' propping ' up her speeches and Book Tour and scolding us incessantly about
how she stands up for Her son with DS. TOTAL hypocrisy. Yesterday...Did she forget Her Son had DS?
( She NEVER let ' us ' forget )

Yesterday was also " Nat'l Downs Syndrome Day " as well... on a day we are talking about health issues.
She had a platform, a stage and an audience to speak up or promote it on THIS day... {{{{ crickets }}}}

She took the time to Tweet some LIES to her followers, But couldn't find even ONE minute to speak
about a cause within her own Family...? I guess she doesn't care anymore.. OR never did.
She should have written something on her hand so she wouldn't forget. That's what she said it was for.

On another note Mr. Dunn,
should I believe those rumors that you are changing your upcoming book
to a weekly periodical just to keep up with the "Lies of Sarah Palin" ?

Your book has been pre-ordered and can't wait for Book 2
06:34 PM on 03/22/2010
I was thinking the same thing as you.

Maybe when we buy the book... it comes with a little 3 -ring binder like a Day Planner.
We send in our mailing address and we get the Weekly or Monthly updates pages.
Because..... you know the lies will NEVER end. How can you end the story....?

Oh Sarah you're so savvy ... but just for the record and a boost to your third grade education level ...that would be the "Democratic" party not Democrat party...oh but what are details when when you are babbling a bundle of BS as usual. Just showing off your lack of education...again.
06:54 PM on 03/22/2010
Yes, she is just a typical member of the "Republic Party". Apparently her interview on FOX was equally stupid.

You would think that a contender for her party's presidential nomination—and the GOP's vice-presidential nominee—could at least say the name of both major parties properly. (She refers to the Democratic Party improperly throughout her book as well.) But of course this is a woman at the pinnacle of the Republican Party who had no idea why her son was fighting in Iraq and didn't know the difference between England and Great Britain when she was named as John McCain's running mate. I would love to play "gotcha journalism" with her for just 30 minutes or watch her on her new producer's show, "Smarter Than a Fifth Grader." But for now, watching her garble the English language on Fox will have to suffice. O'Reilly couldn't even tolerate it yesterday.

We can all pray that Palin is the Republican Nominee in 2012. I want to see her dodge the MSM she feels is so unfair in representing her. I want to see her first debate. I hope she has big hands so she can remember what her core beleifs are.

One: Obamacare is a GOOD thing, not a bad thing. Let's definitely call it Obamacare forever!
Two: Palin and hubby are SECESSIONISTS. Let's remember to always remember that aloud. They re seditionists who want to seceded. She has addressed the Alaskan party of secessionists several times, hasn't she? And hubby was certainly a member, and she certainly supported him in that as she addressed his conventions.

Well, we know she addressed the 2008 convention via videotape, and we know Todd Palin was a member of the Alaska Independence Party for half a dozen years at least.

They have a lot in common that we know about with Texas and Governor Rick Perry, and probably a lot more that we DON'T know about -- yet.

Don't give Sarah Palin more credit than she deserves by confusing her lack of intelligence with duplicity. You have to know what the wrong answer is in order to mislead intentionally.
04:01 PM on 03/22/2010
Mr. Dunn, I am sorry to hear of your health disaster and hope you can continue to write and bring us the information that you so appropriately offer. You're not like Palin, who suffers nothing and claims expertise on everything...and hogs victim-hood as though it were expensive chocolate.
