ASES National Solar Tour Kicks Off October 4th with Chicagoland Bike Maps

Here in New York City where I now live, there's a lot of green going's on tomorrow: Bette Midler's New York Restoration Project (NYRP) will be opening the Target East Harlem, energy-independent, green community garden tomorrow and a Pearl-Jam-esque Tree Planting cum Rock Concert is in the offing. However, back in Chicagoland from wence I hail, and indeed all around this good land of the USA, the American Solar Energy Society's National Tour is kicking off tomorrow. It's easy to locate a model solar / sustainable building to visit and get ispired by. Each year more homes, businesses and public institutions participate in With all the locations to choose from, you simply have no excuse not to get out of the house so that you can, er..., go back into a house. Albeit for the exciting inspiration that only the palpable realization of greenitude can provide!

Also, Infinitely Green out of Chicago reports that new this year is maps for bike-riders of the Chicago North (PDF) area stops -- and Cook County North Map (PDF) -- with the recommended bike routes included thus truly integrating some alt wheels into the mix. The Illinois Solar Energy Association's is presenting presents the Illinois' portion of the American Solar Energy Society 2008 National Solar Tour.
