AFP News video: The McCain campaign continues, full speed ahead. Young supporters spent the weekend campaigning in Manhattan.

Surprise, surprise. I had no idea! Apparently, I've got to get out of the neighborhood more often...

It's not always easy garnering support for the Republican presidential candidate in Manhattan... there were no cheering crowds or zealous supporters flocking around these McCain campaigners at a street fair in downtown Manhattan.

We then get to visit with Lynn Krogh, head of the New York Sate Young Republicans:
It's a tough place to campaign. I've been spit on, I've had water thrown at me...

Now that is truly lame for someone to do that to an opponent. Cliche: don't sink to the other guy's level, people. The segment also gives a quick look at Republicans and in the local races in NYC.

I've lived in NYC for 25-years, and it pains me to learn that McCain-Palin supporters were treated so poorly while campaigning on the streets of this great city. Though I've no idea what the group hoped to gain from what can only be regarded as a futile effort, NYC residents owe it to this city's longstanding reputation of hospitality and openness to demonstrate tolerance to all points-of-view.
