We're Not Swift-Boating

Tom Edsall claims that several organizations, including AFSCME, are creating an "anti-Obama" organization. AFSCME is not about the business of swift-boating any Democratic candidate. We will not be party to any kind of effort of this type. Our campaign is about promoting Hillary Clinton - not tearing down any other candidate. Our number one priority is having the strongest Democratic candidate to take back the White House in November.

This whole thing is going to get really ugly.
The veiled and open racism we are going to be subjected to for the next 6 months is going to be appalling(or delighting depending on your view).
Hang on to your hats - we're in for quite a ride.

Maybe we'll get some non biased articles about Obama soon.
I personally am sick of so many in the media fawning all over him. Although it must be tough to write pieces about someone who doesn't have a record to draw from.

I don't know who distributed those pamphlets__and I don't care. What I do care about as a recently retired government employee and 35-year member of AFSCME is holding on to what good private sector jobs that remain in this country.

Why? Because I managed to not miss a paycheck for 35 years not just because of the efforts of this great AFSCME union, but because of the taxes that came from the sweat of those millions of private sector workers holding jobs that paid well.

And as much as I have always respected and revered Gerald McEntee since his early crusades in Pennsylvania, he will not get a pass from me over the union's endorsement for the scurge of NAFTA, CAFTA, PFTA that Hillary Clinton represents.

A Public Employee union that breaks bread with the elements murdering the middle class will eventually find it's own membership outsourced, laid off, and the labor movement's last hope crushed.

"Our campaign is about promoting Hillary Clinton... Our number one priority is having the strongest Democratic candidate."

Those two statements contradict each other. The Dubya-like polarization that Hillary would bring to the race as a candidate would give the Dems their only chance of losing.

Well then, what are you doing backing the DLC candidate - you know - that Republican-lite group of passive-aggressives who are there ONLY FOR THE MULTI-NATIONAL CORPORATIONS' benefit?

You know, NAFTA/CAFTA....ah...how soon memories fade.....

Damn, dude - you are VOTING AGAINST YOUR OWN ECONOMIC INTERESTS!

How about working FOR the working people for a change instead for the 'MEET THE NEW BOSS, SAME AS THE OLD BOSS'?

Geesh.

Duh.
