Gillion Bosman is a 19-year-old South African who has spent a majority of his formative years working as an activist for social change Cape Town. In 2003 he worked as part of the Embili Youth Empowerment Fund, where he organized a visual literacy exhibition following 10 years of Democracy in South Africa. He was also selected as an Anti-Racism and Human Rights Ambassador for the Unboxed Programme, where he established a community project on stereotypes called, Expression. Gillion raised awareness in his local school, where he was a member of the AIDS education group and selected to be an Executive Member of the Local Learner Representative Council committees, which worked in concert with the Provincial Education Department. Currently, Gillion is a part of the British Council-run social awareness program called, Identities and Diversity Project. He is studying Political Science at the University of Cape Town.
