In the age of Twitter there is no such thing as a (Federal holiday) Friday afternoon news dump! Jay Rosen: No politician in our time has lived her political life at a wider variance from verifiable fact than Palin. That is why rage surrounds her.
The woman who was almost Vice President is listening to children (including Trig the toddler) about whether she should honor her commitment to be governor.
I'm wondering if there's a problem with the multi-billion dollar Alaska Permanent Fund.
Notice in her list of self-accolades, Palin doesn't mention her 2008 Fund distribution - the largest ever - to Alaskans. Last year, when she and McCain were looking for votes, it propelled her to "most popular governor" status. Why isn't she talking about it now? Everything else - real and imagined - is in her list of accomplishments.
Notice too that she is quitting before this year's (meager? non-existent??) Fund distribution is determined.
Reminds me of Bush. Fu** things up, then leave it for the next guy to worry about.
SHE IS DIBBLING THE BALL AND ISTEAD OF EITHER PASSING ON TO THE OTHER PLAYER OR SHOOTING THE BASKET, SHE THROWS INTO THE RUSSIAN TERRITORY.
David Shuster is an unrecognized talent at MSNBC.
How fitting that he assumed full coverage of the Palin bomb-shell while the first-string (Keith, Chris, Ed, Rachel) was off for a seemingly innocuous holiday weekend.
Shuster finally got what he deserved at MSNBC.....an exclusive on the hottest political event since the election.
Thank you, Andrew Sullivan. The real story here is how bad McCain's judgment was in choosing her as his potential VP. Shows monumental bad judgment.
Palin was chosen for McCain by the Republican Party. They looked at Obama's popularity and decided McCain needs a "rock star." His error was in going along with them. To this date, the McCain camp (even Meghan) can't talk about Palin, as the smoldering resentment overwhelms them. They know she cost him the election.
"They know she cost him the election."
Heck, Palin cost the McCain family their dignity!
I concur. It's John McCain we need to wonder about. Palin is not differently perceived than she's ever been.
Gotta fold when you're only holding a pair of 4's.
pa li n & her English
i can run against obama, i can pass ball like Obama, I can hike appalanchian,
but I cannot take the heat in Alaska. Here are my reasons in 2750 words
My thesis -Paliglish in Alaskan Repub Trails
Okay, I take that back about Twitter. This is insightful: Andrew Sullivan: "In some ways, this is a moment to reflect on McCain, and his irresponsibility, not Palin and her drama. " -- Andrew Sullivan on Palin-fail
What a genius: Cameron sums all up: "To some, this is the end of her political career. To others, it's the beginning of her pres. campaign" SK Twitter comments suck. Lets kill Twitter. it is irrelevant and chatter. Its great for finding terrorists and tap the zeitgest, but its not a useful or trustworthy source of intelligent commentary. This Cameron comment gets top billing on this site. But read it. Its like saying, The NY Yankess lost the American League Championship, so their season is over. Next year, with younger players more in tune to the team, they will either be World Series bound again, or not.
Drrr....
And key Republicans said all she needed to do was go study the domestic and international issues before 2012 -- shows how little they know. Don't make the mistake of voting for any Republican in 2010 or 2012, America; they are clueless and too dangerous! This country cannot survive much more of Republican interference.
Palin was actually a chihuahua in "pit bull" lipstick.
Good luck in your chosen profession Mrs. Palin, whatever that may be.
Onward Hypo-Christian soldiers ...
Oh crap, it's the "Age of Reason" again!?!?!
from twitter --
Jay Rosen: No politician in our time has lived her political life at a wider variance from verifiable fact than Palin. That is why rage surrounds her.
Well put.
That line immediately stood out to me. Perfectly nails why those who see Palin as dangerous, in terms of her emergent political position, see her as they do.
agreed...
plus her pit bull ability to say anything about the 'un-american tiierrorist' opposition.
Geeez, and she wonders why so many of us dislike her so much?
