Grace Aneiza Ali is the Founder and Editorial Director of of note magazine, which spotlights global artists using their work for social change. Her work is centered on using the arts to empower, inspire, and motivate change globally. Grace also serves as an Associate Director at the Dwyer Center in New York City, where she works to make the artistic and cultural legacy of New York City’s Harlem accessible to a local and global audience. She teaches English Literature as an Adjunct Professor for the City University of New York (CUNY). Grace is a Fulbright Scholar (India, 2003 – 2004) and the recipient of the Henry McCracken Graduate Fellowship at New York University. She spent several years working in social justice advocacy for the internationally recognized Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and The Sentencing Project in Washington, DC. She holds a M.A. in Africana Studies from NYU and a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she graduated magna cum laude.

Grace was born in Guyana, South America to a beautifully chaotic family of Amerindians, Indians, Africans, Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists. She has used her most recent travels to India and Ethiopia as a platform to advocate for girls' education in rural villages.
